Wheel of Fortune

Today’s card is the wheel of fortune.
.
I’ve mentioned before that there is no such thing as luck. One of my mentors, Michael Bernard Beckwith, or as we referred to him at Agape; ‘The Rev’, called ‘luck’ Living Under Cosmic Knowledge. When we are an open vessel we are allowing the collective conscious to come in.
.
I can hear you now, “Come On Dave, gimme a break.”
.
“One break coming up!” And it’s a duzy. .
In one of my writing meditations this came to me. Imagine if you will, somebody up there in the ether, we will call this person your higher self, playing a video game. With their control pad (think XBox Control) they are guiding you through your journey. But when you are all gunked up, in your head your higher self is struggling with the control. It can’t guide you because the WiFi is at one bar. But when you are going with the flow l, you are an open vessel, your higher self has 5 bars on the WiFi and can easily guide you.
.
Whew. So… the wheel of fortune is telling us to keep our system open. Clear your chakras and ‘allow’ this so called good fortune to enter.

The Star

Today’s card is The Star.
.
This card is telling us that we can create anything we want or need. .
Recently I was talking to a friend about ‘Allowing’. All too often we try to control our environment instead of allowing things to unfold. Believe me, it is a test. As I sit over here in England writing I’ve mentioned that I have to frequently walk away from it all to allow the lyrics to flow through me. This also goes for any other aspect of our lives. We try to capture that bird in a cage to possess it for our own. We do this because we feel that if it leaves then we will be alone. Nobody wants to be alone. We look to that bird as our inspiration when the truth is that everything around us is our inspiration, and even going deeper… we are the common denominator, always. We are our own inspiration.
.
When we finally understand that ‘the buck stops here’ then we understand that we are creators. We hold the key. I wrote a song on the Karma Machine album with Kill Ritual called The Key. Go listen to the words. .
When you finally allow yourself to be who you truly are, you are opening yourself up to spirit and allowing spirit to guide you to your best and highest good.

The Princess of Swords

Today’s card is the Princess of Swords.
.
Creation through Destruction.
.
If you take a look at the card you will see that she carries a sword. In the traditional deck she is thrusting the sword into the ground creating a Vesica Pisces. The V.P. is Sacred Geometry. It is the Womb of the Universe and is literally in every creation. It is the first to introduce duality.
.
In the statement above I mention Creation through Destruction. Before we can manifest and create our new reality we have to first destroy the old. Any focus on old thought patterns or beliefs bring them right back center. That is why you notice people complaining never seem to grow or change. They are literally ‘stuck in the past’.
.
Here is an example for you. When I was in the Marines I used to smoke cigarettes. A disgusting habit that I eventually purged from my life. I have never nor will I ever refer to myself as a former smoker, or recovering smoker. I took the road of completely wiping that away by saying ‘I don’t smoke’ when asked, otherwise you will never ever hear me mention anything about it. Some would call this ignoring your past. No. It’s reshaping your past to bring forth a more positive future. That is why you will also never hear me jump on the ‘Never Forget’ band wagons. I’m not being unsympathetic to injustices of the past, what I am doing is creating a positive paradigm for the future. Bottom line…
.
We can’t change our past, but we can change our future.
.
Today, when you get a free moment, take out a pen and paper. Start writing down things of your past that aren’t serving you. Read them out loud and say, “I thank you for your lessons to help me change my future. I am ready to move forward. I release you now and forever.” Now burn that piece of paper and allow those judgements of your past to disappear.

The Ace of Swords

Today’s card is the Ace of Swords.
.
This card reminds me of the old song by Jimmy Cliff ‘I can see clearly now’.
.
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It’s gonna be a bright, bright Sun-Shiny day.
.
When this card comes up in a reading you can expect to get answers to some questions that might have had you dumbfounded for a little while. Possibly you slept on it? Asked the question before you fell asleep last night?
.
This is how the mind works. It doesn’t come up with profound solutions by beating your head against a wall. No, you have to walk away for a bit. .
When I was in advertising we used to pull all-nighters. We could easily be there for days working on a project. When we found ourselves getting frustrated we would walk away. We’d go play basketball or go for a bike ride. We’d play music or go into the gym that we had in the office. We would get extremely sleep deprived and silly. Once we were out of our heads answers would come. It was a fascinating process.
.
You don’t have to go into sleep deprivation to get into this state. Another way to do it is through meditation. Meditation is clearing your mind by focusing on one thing. For me I do breath work. I take a breath in on a 4 count, hold it for 4, then exhale for 4. While I am doing this I focus on my breath by listening to how the breath comes in and how it goes out. By focusing on one thing you are allowing the clutter to dissipate, therefor allowing energy to enter your crown chakra and working its way down through you into the earth.
.
Today, feel these so-called problems that have had a grasp on your throat and allow the answers to flow through you. Read up on meditation, yoga, reiki and other energy works that might help you clear these from your life.

The Seven of Wands

Today’s card is the 7 of Wands. Valor!
.
I’ve mentioned this phrase many times… ‘Oh what the fuck! Do it anyway!’
.
What does this mean? Valor is knowing that something needs to be done, and even though you are afraid you will move forth regardless because you are more willing to step through the pain to get to the ultimate goal.
.
Lately I’ve been encountering this. I have stuck my ground and spoke my truth regardless of the fear that I was feeling. Don’t confuse this with stubbornness. This is completely different. Stubbornness is sticking to a point no matter if you are ‘wrong’ or ‘right’. Stubbornness is ego driven. Valor is not.
.
In WWII admiral Nimitz said this about the Marines; ‘Uncommon Valor was a common virtue.’ The Marines had placed valor above and beyond their own lives because they collectively believed in something bigger than themselves.
.
What are you willing to fight to the death for? What is important to you? What are the obstacles in front of you?
.
Today is a good day to write these down in detail. What would your life look like if you fought for what you believed in?
.

The Four of Wands

Today’s card is the 4 of Wands. Completion.
.
As I sit here writing songs in the English countryside there is a lot of time for reflection. I’ll go through bouts of wondering if I’m doing the right thing, being around the right people, being in the right place. All of which lead me down another Rabbit Hole.
.
Am I happy with who I am? I’ll start off by saying yes, and I will continue as well by saying, no. What a contradiction. For I am a walking contradiction. Does this mean that I’m mentally unstable? No, it means that when you are in this state of mind that you are constantly striving to be better. Striving to just ‘be’.
.
Some would say that this is fruitless and that I should just be happy regardless of what success I have already achieved, but like any artist, we are constantly striving to reach another rung.
.
If you find yourself in the position that I am right now, here are a few tools that you can use to help move you forward;
.
Take a look at your past successes. What did you do to create those successes? Who were you surrounded by then? Where was your head at? Where were you located?
.
Remind yourself that success is only achieved when we are balanced. Again… who are you surrounding yourself with? What are you eating? Are you getting enough sleep? Drinking enough water? Meditating? Yoga?
.
And lastly. When we feel complete it allows us to start creating again. It allows us to move forward with confidence that we are on the right path.
