Speak only if it improves upon the Silence – Mahatma Gandhi
As spiritual beings we are always seeking further enlightenment. We take in a lot of information and make sure that we don’t get too invested in one idea or another. Being open to new concepts and ideas is imperative to growth.
Where a lot of us fall short is when we find an idea that works we don’t trust our own instincts, thinking that someone else has a better idea than you. It’s ok to be the student but at some point we also have to be the teacher. If we are not then people are going to start walking away. They are going to tire of your obsessive questioning of everything and of yourself.
This is telling us to trust what we have learned and to use these tools AND at the same time, stay open and fluid to know ideas and concepts.
Here is something that I’m learning the I Hope might help you as well. I have a tendency to talk everything through as I’m developing an idea or concept. Not all that listen are going to understand this. They might become afraid that you’re a scatterbrain or that you don’t trust your own self and they are going to naturally give you advice or run like hell. It’s ok to be inquisitive. It’s ok to be unsure. But make sure you are doing it with people that are aware that they are in the confines of this developmental debate.
What I’m saying is this… as Gandhi mentioned above. Give an idea time to develop inside of your head before blabbing it all over the world, and once you’ve developed it be confident in what you say.
Peace!
