The story of D.N.A. is a story of rebirth. Singer/songwriter David Reed Watson (Kill Ritual/Rage of Angels) and producer and composer Alexandre Santos (Scar For Life) first collaborated in 2012. Intending to write songs for the heavy rock band Scar for Life, after they had written the first song they both realized that this was something different, and D.N.A. was born. Neil Fraser (Ten/Rage of Angels) joined David and Alex to add lead guitar, and João Colaço (Scar for Life/Rage of Angels) on drums and Mikael Carlsson (Lover Under Cover) on bass completed the line-up. The result was Life, a five-track EP released in 2013. Described as ‘a solid line-up [that] was going to be one of those rare hidden gems’ (Heavy Metal Time Machine, 2013), Life was well received by lovers of melodic rock. Sadly, other commitments got in the way of what was a great partnership and D.N.A. wasn’t able to capitalize on their initial success … until now. In 2018, David and Alex were reunited in Las Vegas and they decided it was time to write new material for D.N.A., Neil Fraser also expressed interest in being involved in a revitalized D.N.A. and Joe Petro joined the band on bass. The band’s first single, ‘Lies That Bind’, was written by Alex Santos and Joe Petro with vocals by David and features Neil Fraser on lead guitar and Alex’s Stagma colleague Patrick Johansson on drums. The single was produced by Pat Fontaine (XYZ) and also introduced a new member of D.N.A., Callie Elterman, who provided lyrics and vocals. The single is due for release in the spring of 2019. David Reed Watson has fronted numerous bands over the years and has toured extensively in the US, Canada, and Europe. Legendary guitarist Neil Fraser has worked with several bands, including TEN and Rage of Angels with Ged Ryland. He first worked with Alex Santos with Scar For Life and lately with Stagma. In addition to providing lead guitar on D.N.A.’s forthcoming album, Neil is also working on the release of his first solo album. Alex Santos is a prolific writer and composer, having written and produced five studio albums for Scar For Life in addition to international releases for heavy rock bands Stagma and D.N.A. Alex has toured in Europe with Scar For Life and played with Kill Ritual in Las Vegas.Members
